MOC - 42163 - Lift and Carry Crane

Recently I have broken down my second copy of set 42163 and used this to build a MOC, this is a tracked lift and carry crane.

The gear behind the cabin is used to control the two stage lift of the crane arm. This has a hook to allow a load to be attached. This was built using only the parts from set 42163.

 I recently purchased a second copy of LEGO Technic set 42163 to use for a MOC, prior to doing this, I decided to build a C model which was published on Rebrickable by mic8per.

The build didn't take long and while it looks good, both the "features" are manual, you just push them up and down. No use of gears or levers at all. After playing with this for a short period, I have broken it down and am using the parts for a MOC.

LEGO Technic 42164 - Race Truck C Model Review

The LEGO Technic Race Truck 42164 C Model delivers an adrenaline-packed building experience and an exhilarating playtime for enthusiasts of all ages. As a proud owner of this set, I can attest to its ingenuity, attention to detail, and sheer fun factor.

My 6 year old son and I found it an enjoyable build on a Sunday afternoon. The blade liftimg via the roof mounted gear is an easy concept for him to understand and he enjoys pushing it around. For $12, it is excellent value.
